  19. Like many of you out there, I'm taking a long hard look at the PC and 
  20. wondering what's going to give me the most bang for my buck.  But as I 
  21. was reading through the list and following the threads about how much 
  22. certain systems cost, and how much RAM they require, I began to wonder if 
  23. the solution wasn't just to skip the PC and get a Draco.  I've seen the 
  24. Pentium vs. 68060 argument, and how by the time the 060 is released the 
  25. Pentium will be even faster.  I see the logic there, but the Draco will 
  26. have the ability to run on RISC chips, meaning that you could start out 
  27. using the 060 and upgrade when you had the money or need (whichever comes 
  28. first ;) )  Best of all, it will run the Amiga OS and most of our 
  29. existing software.  For me, this is not an issue to overlook.  I've 
  30. plunked hundreds if not thousands of dollars into my Amiga software 
  31. arsenal.  The thought of having to repurchase all new software on the PC 
  32. side doesn't thrill me.  Neither does the prospect of having to learn all 
  33. new applications.  Very alluring is the idea of being able to run Lightwave 
  34. 4.0, Image FX 2.0, Pagestream 3.0 and more on an 060 or better machine.  
  35. Even more alluring is the same idea with an Emplant board added into the 
  36. mix.  I'm torn now.  The tidal wave of peer pressure says to abandon the 
  37. Amiga and anything to do with it and get a *real* computer.  And maybe 
  38. it's just that I'm having a hard time letting go...  But I'm looking now 
  39. and wondering... PC or Draco?
